a good BOV for a stock sequential setup
hi guys, as the title says, what's a good BOV on a relatively stock sequential setup? i do believe i am running a stock BOV right now as I can hear the pressure release when driving, but it's very faint and almost inaudible when cruising around town. i've read that BOV's are able to produce a louder sound when they have "horns" or "air splitters". not exactly sure what that means. any suggestions?

Did you notice the FAQ thread right above this thread? Read it. It has plenty of good info on BOV.

Before you spend the money, disconnect the stock BOV's from the stock airbox. They make QUITE a bit of noise, actually sound pretty good. They also respond better than many of the BOV's on the market - always smooth.
IMHO, with the stock twins, an aftermarket BOV is a waste of money. The stock ones flow great, make noise, and can handle anything power-wise you want to throw at them.
I would recommend capping the holes in the airbox if you do this long term. Hit up the hardware section in Wal-Mart and get some chair leg caps in black rubber. I think it's either 3/4" or 7/8" size you need - that will fit great.

As for your current setup, can you take a picture? Even some of the aftermarket intakes plumb the BOV outlet back into the intake track to silence the sound.

Here's a post I made in one of the various threads about this topic:

that's just a rubber hose directly connected on. if i disconnect it, won't that have some kind of adverse effect? or is that where the extra sound will come out? i still haven't figured out where the stock BOV is (unless i'm retarded and that's it)

That hose should attach to the BOV a little farther back. The BOV is brown and has a small vacume line on the top. then the hose continues down to the Y-Pipe. There is two of them right by each other. Im not sure which one is the BOV and which one is Charge relief.
If you remove the hoses, make sure to plug the holes on the filter adapter so it wont let air bypass the filter.

The one with the big hose coming off the center of the y-pipe is the main BOV. The other is the charge relief. They have labels but they are sort of interchangeable so I don't rely on that.
Definitely you need the small vacuum line running to the BOV, or else it won't function.

my main goal here is to just make a louder BOV than stock, so if I disconnect that main hose the-k-man pointed out, would that produce a louder sound? is the small vacuum line running to the BOV visible in the above picture?
