good AFR Gauges

Hey guys, im in the marked from a Air/Fuel Gauge. I dont want to spend 400 dollars on a AFM.
I hear that Wideband is only good if you are draging, and need to re-tune your car often. And that the lowband (?) is fine if you get your car tuned, and leave it. Please clarify this for me.

i found this http://www.gothamracing.com/catalog/...oducts_id=1399

But is that a standalone AFM meter? Any help would be awesome.

Im also in the market for a Oil temp, water temp gauges.

thanks,

-Mark

That's just the gauge. I run innovate motorsports LC-1 on a couple of cars now. It's quick and accurate though a bit tougher to install. The link below has a nice combo with gauge that actually datalogs. I also have the display and its a very nice unit with alot of adjustments/options.

As to your wideband verses narrow. If your going to be tuning later or want to be safe and watch your afr's you need a wideband.

Ditto that, a wideband is WAY more accurate than a narrow band, and has faster responce times...its worth the money to get a good one you'll thank yourself down the road.

thanks guys. I was hopeing to get a Guage like AFM, that i can put in a guage pod. But if all else fails, ill go with that since its cheaper, allot cheaper acually.

So a wideband is the way to go hey. If any one has any AFM widebands gimme a shout, or know where i can get a decently priced one.

A narrow band is good if you like blinking lights in a gauge pod. Not a whole lot of useful information. If you are getting an AFR gauge because you want something useful you need to spend the $ on a wideband. I dont know where the dragging or frequent retuning thing came from. A wideband can help prevent a blown up motor whether you are dragging, racing on a road course, or just gently taking off from a stop sign. A narrow band will tell you rich or lean from stoich. A rotary can pop even when much richer than stoich, so thats pretty much useless information.

NGK has one for about $250 but it doesnt fit in a round pod, thats what I have.

zeitronix wideband. cheap. most reliable (least sensative to weather and moisture). Easy to use and record compared to Innov. and Smallest.

end of story

as much as I hate to say this because I will be selling mine soon... narrowband is useless

I refer to mine as the christmas tree gauge since it constantly flashes from green to red to green to red to green to red...
