God! I hate Fdckn with the fuel injectors!
Every time I have to pull the fuel injectors out! I feel like lying on the ground and pouting and throwing a tantrum. I hate that the injectors are buried under everything. And it takes me like 2hours just to decide if I want to go through the trouble. The secondaries aren't much hassle but the primaries are a swift kick in the *****!

Amen brother, that and the f'in fuel filter. Just keep reminding myself to move the dam filter where you can actually see it... Guess today is as good as any to gripe.

I feel your pain. I was ready to sell my car because of it..........
4 years ago.................
I had a rich condition with a M2 chipped computer. I called Brian at M2 & his experience was that injectors that had been "cleaned" had proven to be suspect.
I was at a shop with a dyno that specializes in fuel systems (carbs & injectors). He had another RX-7 there for tuning & said I could "borrow" his injectors & see if there was any difference.
This was before I had ever attempted to remove injectors for a 3rd Gen. After I finally got all mine out I was damned if I was gonna risk screwing up someone else car. The primaries were a bitch to pull & the tops got chewed up.
The shop was unable to flow test the injectors so I put everything back together & tried to start it up. Fuel poured out onto the ground. Took everything apart & found a cut o-ring. We matched them up to some he had in stock & tried again.
Same thing, fuel poured out onto the ground. Pulled everything apart, but this time the o-rings looked fine. WTF?????
I was damned if I was gonna just stick it back together without changing something. After finding no external leaks, I determined that the generic o-rings were the wrong size (they "looked" identical) & fuel was leaking into the motor.
Called my buddy & trailered the car home. The shop just charged me storage fee for the two days in stayed there. It was very cool that not only did he let me work on my car there, but didn't charge me an arm & leg for it. I did take up one of his service bays for 2 days.
I ordered all new o-rings from the dealer & after a week had everything finally back together. By now I was so thoroughly disgusted that if this didn't work I was gonna sell my car for scrap.
Eureka, it worked. I fixed it! (not the rich condition, the massive fuel leak)
4 years later I still have my car (with a PFC that fixed the rich condition) & all is well. I have pulled my injectors a couple times since with no heart-ache.
Now, I always replace the fuel injector o-rings with OEM.
