Unhappy glowing red turbos

got a question, i just installed my hks downpipe over the weekend. Today i took it for a 1 1/2 hour ride after work and when i got home i check under the hood for smoke (because of PB blaster smoke from install). No smoke but the turbo was glowing red, right at the exaust port. Only notice because that heat sheild is now removed. Is this normal or what????

I'll have to check that out. I've seen glowing cats before, but never looked at a turbo.

Mine glows nicely I actually use this to determinr when to shut the car off after ideling with the fans on. When the glow be gone, I shut off the engine. Really seems to reduce heat soak after shutoff...

It's not so much that i CAN shoot flames idling, it's that it just happens.... dunno why, but why mess with success.

If the whole DP is cherry-red you better check for a clogged cat converter, tho.
