Glowing Orange Pre-Cat Update

Finished replacing the stock DP & precat with a $60 ebay stainless downpipe. Went for a drive and it ran MUCH stronger! Boost pattern with the clogged precat was 10-4-5 and is now 10-9-10. The car idles like crap now and was pulling 8-10 inHg at idle. Idle speed was ~500 RPM. After a few days, the idle smoothed out a bit and the car idles a little higher with 12-13 inHg. Still low on vacuum but the compression was over 100 PSI on all faces 500 miles ago when I bought the car.

I highly recommend the ebay downpipes as an alternative the $300 DPs. Fit was perfect and it looks nice. If it matters, I bought this one from ebay user alwaysbargains.

You can run a downpipe and catback on stock ecu with no problems, some people have run even more power mods and been alright. Stock ecu is tuned very rich....main thing to look out for is increased boost with stock ecu. It's very important to keep that main catalytic converter in place.

Yeah, you can open up the exhaust as much as you want with the stock cat, its so damn restrictive lol it limits the boost using back pressure. Open up the cat, you get less back pressure, which means more boost.

I bought the same thing (well, DP and Midpipe) from that exact seller a few months ago. I too had no problems at all with the product. My review here:
