Talking Getting Pettit DP

Hey guys,
I'm buying Chris Sanders' 3" pettit downpipe next week. It'll complete my exhaust (so far) with the 3" downpipe, stock cat, and 3" piping post-cat to a 3"/4" muffler. I am hoping this will improve the performance a little.

I'll let you guys know when I can (I'm going back home from school, and will be away from the internet for a while) how it works out. I guess other than just telling you guys this (because I'm excited ) I am wondering if anyone has a similar setup, and how they like it.

Have a nice day
Tyler

But be careful. After I put my dp on (with stock main-cat) my boost went from 10psi to 13psi. I turned it down with the needle valves I already had on my wastegate and pre-control.

You don't. The only way to limit boost with your setup is to NOT step on the gas. Put in a manual boost controller. That will make you safe after it is adjusted.

I talked to Chris Sanders at Banzai Racing, and he said that I should be fine because I am running the stock cat.

I am also getting the Blitz intake next week - anyone have any ideas how much this is going to improve performance?

Like, how many estimated horsepower do you think a Pettit downpipe, Blitz intake, stock cat, 3" exhaust piping, and 3" muffler will add?

Simply not true. You WILL need some sort of boost control. If you have a little extra cash get a Profec B. If not, some needle valves mentioned above.

I too wonder how much it adds. For some reason ~240rwhp sticks out in my head.

This is an area of debate with lots of information coming from both sides of the issue. With my car I stay right at 12 pounds even in 30 degree weather in MI with the mods in my sig even without any form of boost controll. I forget what the stock ECU hits fuel cut at, isn't it like 11.something or rather?. This issue is debatable and it really depends on the car, and there is obviously the 3 mod rule. But I know a lot of people running the DP and cat-back with stock cat no problems on stock ECU. And if some creep does result, a simple manual boost controller will fix it, in this instance I really don't think buying a proflec B is the answer. In fact Tyler is my friend and I've got a extra one lying around I'd be willing to hook him up with.
