Gear change and Speedometer

Has anyone out there changed their gearing?? If so, what did you use to reconfigure the speedometer?

I changed to the 4:30 rear and the speedo and mileage were off 10%. Note that the original rear was a 3.91 (automatic). To check mileage error (BTW the reading will be higher), drive on the highway and start your count at a miler marker. Record your starting odometer reading and drive 10 miles. Record your odometer reading. If you see 11 miles, your off 10%. Your speedo will also be off. Your actual speed will be lower than what your speedo says. If I want to drive at 65, I need a speedo reading of close to 72 mph.

Also, note that the unit referenced by "jr" does work with ABS. A speedo shop in Cincy quoted me $300.00 to correct the problem. I passsed.

You can swap in a different speedo drive gear in the transmission. If you were to have your transmission out for a clutch or something anyhow, this would be an easy switch.
