Gauge pods, gauge pods and more gauge pods!

im looking to design a gauge pod... i was wondering if there are any other designs then the ones that pop into the center speaker? i tried searching and came up with mostly that similar style and wanted to see if i was missing any?

also anyone have any design ideas? i want something different then the ones out..

things i want to add...
i def like the convince of being able to just pop on and off the gauge pod
i want to add a hood over the gauge to prevent glaring

ideas..
something similar to the sti gauge hood (not sure if it will flow with the 7's lines
pod with a similar arc hood like the gauge cluster
gauge cluster with the top view of a rotor......

any thoughts? opinions? criticism? all welcomed!

How about some extension of the existing hood. I don't know how deep you'd need to make it to be able to hook into the center speaker, but if you want the cleanest, most stock looking thing, I think that's what you need to do.

I've attached a very crude drawing of what I'm talking about as well as a BMW 335 interior with idrive as a real world example of what I mean.

its cheap and it fits over the center speaker where i run the wires thru for the boost and a/f gauge.

I wouldn't mind that if it were molded in a bit better.

This one is kinda weird, but hey:

the ones I know about:

single, dual or triple A pillar pod

dual mickey mouse over-the-gauge-hood pod

single column mount pod

dual, triple or quad center speaker pod

ac panel mounted gauges

single-din multi gauge pod in the stereo location

triple over-the-passenger-airbag pod

I even saw a custom installed heads up display

Nope. Never was my car.

I don't know where my pics are at the moment, but I'm stock with the triple a-pillar pod and quad center pod from Frank.

I'd prefer something built to fit in the center speaker I don't think that would look to clean.

I would really like to see the mickey mouse setup with a single pod on the left side as an alternative to having a pod on the a-pillar. I've seen it in some Japanese FD videos.

id fiberglass it so it would look flush and made to fit rather then just sit it on top..

Bumping a wicked dead thread, but does anyone have any pics or know where to get the din plates for the gauges, and possibly the one with the boost controller mounting location? I can't remember where they were at.
