Gauge Custom Wiring (I've searched)

Ok this isnt a stupid question like my AST question. I got a boost gauge and soon getting a water temp gauge and i like the idea of putting them above your radio. that little compartment that slides open.. etc (look at picture here ) anyways, i was wondering if the wiring will be a bitch to get through there. any suggestions besides getting a gauge mount. If you have a setup simulart to what i want give me some details on how you did it. thanks alot guys

the compartment is fully sealed, it all comes out in one peice, I recommend that you remove it completely and replace with a faceplate. Yes trying to get wire through anywhere is always a right cu*t of a job , get used to it.

Its not hard at all. I have an air temp, water temp and boost gauge there. just ran the wires through the firewall and routed under the dash.

The way to make it easiest is to build a harness first for your senders marking everything with tape.

wiring to that point is not hard. you will have to cut the back if you plan on using the box. I wouldn't recommend it. like someone mentioned just get a cheap block off plate for stereo installs and cut the holes to the right diameter. there are plenty of guys with the setup. the search button always goes a long way, too.

for someone asking very simple newbie questions you seem to have a little bit of an attitude, but i am in a good mood so i will humor you.

a search and about 5 minutes of reading revealed this thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...saab+din+panel

that is the solution for your din gauge mounting.

As far as the vacuum line goes you will have to remove your fender liner and go through the whole that is already there (just capped off).

Don't be so afraid to try something on your own. Just go out, think about what you have to accomplish, and figure out how you'll have to go about doing it. It only takes a few seconds to remove a wheel.

They said the SAAB DIN gauge panel was discontinued in that thread.

I plan on getting one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Here's another one that should work since most DIN applications are universal:

Although that one will not look as nice with only one or two gauges installed.

no problem, bro, we are like a bunch of old grumpy men on this forum, and like to beat people up about using the search.

but back to the question. removing the tire makes things a lot easier and allows for complete removal of the liner, which again makes things a lot easier. after that it is a breeze, there is a plug about 2-2.5" in diameter, pop the plug, and voila. well not really you will have to pretty much break your wrist to grab a hold of the cables/hose on the interior side, but it can be done.

sorry i meant to link this one on that previous post.

Maybe you should be considering a different car to be learning with...

No, you do not have to re-align just because the wheels were removed.
