gas mileage and reliability

so, im thinkin of gettin like a 93 or 94 twin T rx7, dropped in a big block olds into my car, should be breakin low 11s soon all motor, so my E.T. is slowly catchin my gas mileage. ive always liked rx7s and supras, and even the 3000gt's but they seem to be piles.. so i got two 93 rx7s im lookin at right now, both are automatics, both are the twin turbos, im wonderin how they reliable they are and what kinda gas mileage, i know they are quick, and capable of holdin there own with anything with some work, but i got my toy, so this will just be a daily driver thing, do a lil cosmetics, do a few cheaper bolt ons maybe thats bout it. but also i know they got a bad rap for reliability, is this do to like manufacturing ppl, or dumb a**es that just get in and go rag on um wit out keepin up wit ur basic maintenance.
