1994 FDs mileage 17/25
2003 RX8 mileage 18/24
2002 Corvette zo6 19/28
2003 Dodge Viper 12/22

Relatively speaking the FDS's mileage isn't that bad. I'm suprised that the RX8's mileage is so low in light of all the development work that Mazda has done with the Renesis. It actually gets worse highway mileage than the FD!

I also noticed my mileage improve after installing the PFC.

I've seen $2.15 at a Mobil just outside of the loop. If I care about economy, I'll drive my Saturn. I know my FD isn't the best on mileage. If it's your daily driver, it can get pretty expensive pretty quick, but since it's not for me, I don't have to worry about continually filling it up.

There's my $.02

If you are worried about mileage how do you afford your FD? Ya bought the wrong car in that case.

If you want the speed and better milage put an LS1 in it

No matter what mazda says, a 94 fd will never get 25 mpg on a highway... I just don't ever imagine seeing that become even a possibility.

HUH?! Relatively speaking? Those other two cars make over 400 hp and get BETTER gas milage than the rotary that makes half the hp. That's CRAP!

Rotaries have always been known to get poor milage - that's one of the major downfalls of the engine and a main factor in why every car today doesn't have a rotary (remeber that almost every car manufacturer experimented with rotaries in the late 60's/early 70's - until the oil crisis hit & all but mazda tossed 'em like a pair of dirty underwear).

Sports cars can make good gas milage and go really fast, they just need to be really light (see avatar )

We were at around $5.85 a gallon the last time I looked (I try to avoid noticing ) which may explain why I know it is possible to get mid twenties from an FD if driven carefully at 55-65mph.

Just ignore me while I sit in the corner and sob for a while

I can get about 25 MPG on the highway if I take it easy. Around town its usually around 10-11 MPG (not taking it easy).

How much is gas down in the states? I live in bc, canada and ours is around 80 cents per litre for 94 octane.. what kinda prices are down in the usa?
I just paid 2.32 per gallon for 91 octane premium in ca.

I never let it get down that far (that or my light isn't working). my avg fillup is 15.7 gallons, and I think I have like 7 or 8 data points for that calculation. The tank is 16.5 gallons, yeah?
For a 94 w/manual tranny, the tank is 20.1 gallons. An automatic has a slightly smaller tank for some reason.

well, the gas mileage also depends on your mods. I'm not really too sure about mileage I'm getting at the moment!
