Future Removal and Rebuild...
So I ordered the Rotary Aviation R&R and Rebuild videos yesterday. Got to my house in one day, kick ***. I started watching the R&R video. ****!!!! It breaks everything down very well. I just don't know if I have the confidence to do all this though

I've watched the video too and have seen somone rebuild one in person. I don't even own an RX7 "Yet" but I have rebuild my twin turbo Z's engine and I can honestly say "anybody" can rebuild a rotary that thinks they can. I will be doing my own rebuilds on it when I get one. Just take your time and check all of the clearences. Do it right or don't do it at all though.

GO FOR IT MAN!!
I honestly think rotarys are the easiest to work on. I mean there is so much room in the engine bay and no valvetrain!!! I mean its not like you have 10 pistons with cams, valves, springs, retainers etc. to worry about. Less moving parts= easier to work on.

holy **** I posted this. LMAO. I must have been drunk. I guess I was looking for some support. Either way I have torn my spare engine down and decided I'm just going to go with mine. So now my engine that is in the engine bay is almost ready to come out with the exception of the the bolts to the bellhousing and the motor mounts. I don't have a hoist right now so gotta wait for that. So while I was waiting I decided to tear it down and now all I have to do is remove the turbos and a few oil lines and its down to the shortblock. Cool stuff. Now to think That I have done all this to my engine in 2 days. Kick ***!

I took mine out last year with no power tools and the car was bone stock. I had watched the DVD's too. Talk about a lot of parts. Putting it back in was cake, because there's nothing left to the motor. I helps to have knowledgeable friends if you need a hand though.

once you get that motor out and apart, its a whole different story. Theres parts to the parts parts. The hard work is looming ahead, removing the accessories and pulling the engine out of the car is one hour worth of work.
