Fuse Keeps blowing, tailight/insturment lights out

I have not done anything electircal to the car in the prior 24hr, so i dont think its me or any mods i've done. I was driving down the streets and the lights just went out, the insturment lights and tail lights. it is the 15amp fuse in the driver side foot well. tried taking the tail lights out (all bulbs) and installed a new fuse, blew again. looked at the wiring behind the insturment lights and nothing looks melted. Dont know what else to do, anyone got any imput?
Please help can drive my car at night.

I've got the same issue in mine... I will be taking it in to an electrician when I get home from vacation to have them diagnose and fix the problem. I'll let you know where mine is shorting when I find out.

Thank goodness for a DD ^_^

figured it out, it was a wired that ground it selfout and finaly caught fire, good thing i disconnected the battery in time. the wire just rubed against the body, seperated the wire and wraped it in electrical tape and then wire loop, everything works now.

I had an 86 GXL that did that. The headlight switch was the problem. It was a recall back then. I'm no mechanic but there was a circuit board that was bad. It would cause the dash and tailights to go out. Your problem might just be the headlight switch. Just a thought.

the wire ran inside the driver side fender, it melted both the positive and negative wire together, i think it was the oem fog wires.
i was looking at the circuit board first but no one had decent pictures, i just got luck and found this.
