V12 or a 4rotor would be overkill for most of us as a V8 and a 3rotor would be lighter and put out just as much power. if they are not, just turbo them. haha i bet only a small hand full of people on this board would not kill themselves with over 400rwhp on a FD. im not talking about straight lines top speed stuff, i mean come on, how much skill does it take to shift up and hold the wheel straight? (I know I'm not in this small hand full and can admit it, perhaps one day I might but I have enuf trouble trying to control the stock power levels at the edge)

 

Put a Jag V12 in it....those are alloy and quite light! Only 70 lbs heavier than the Jag 4.2 litre in-line six.....

 

Now it matches my chassis since I had to replace the front clip last month!

I wish I had the money to do a 3 rotor...mabey I'll just sell the GTI and walk everywhere till I get the car done Yea, I still have to strip the inside of the fenders which should really, really fun!

THe seam welding stiffens the chassis tremendously, but most people dont do it cause it is a ton of work...especially with how much goddamn seam-sealer Mazda used on these things When I get it done (in 8 months or so) I will check chassis deflection compared to stock and post the results.

 

That looked like it would be a WHOLE lot of work.

how long did it take to grind down all those points?
