Full Pillar Pod
Hi all, I just wanted to throw this out there since I been looking at mounting solutions for a while now. Every single pillar pod I have seen attaches to our existing a pillar. This would be autometers and glow shifts. I have yet to find a full pillar until now. Found this.

Yes, this one is from Speedhut. I also have a Speedhut 3 pillar pod (full) that I purchased from Jegs several years back. My hand does not hit the closest gauge to the steering wheel for two reasons: I have a 2002 Nardi wheel which is 370mm instead of the stock 380mm diameter wheel; Also, the gauge is actually set back (closer to the dash) than is the steering wheel. That said, when I was using the two gauge pod and the stock wheel, I would occasionally hit my hand on the gauge but not while I was turning the steering wheel. It would happen when I lifted my hand off the wheel. The gauge pillar fits directly on top of the stock A pillar. I mounted it with one plastic interior plug that came with the pillar pod at the top center of the A pillar. My first pillar pod was the three gauge pod and its mounting point was out of view. I did that by seating it in position. The lip of (both) pillars fit under the door trim where a few mm of the lip was out of view. I drilled a tiny hole through both pillars at the top tip that was on the lip that slipped under the door trim and was out of view. I was able to thread a small zip tie through the hole (you can probably use a twisty tie) and neatly tuck it under the door trim. There is a tight fit at the bottom of the pillar pod where it slips in between the dash so the pillar pod is not going anywhere.

It mounts directly on top of the existing A pillar. It does not contain any clips to mount into the factory mounting points. It comes with 4 black plastic upholstery screws that would requiring drilling through both A pillars if you opt to use some or all of them. As I indicated, you don't need to use these upholstery screws although I am using one at top dead center as seen in the photo. Rather, pull back the door trim and drill a tiny hole at the top edge of both A pillars that are covered by the trim and use a zip tie, twisty tie or safety wire to hold both pillars together and cover it with the door trim. The base of the external pillar fits so tightly between the factory A pillar and the dash that it is not going anywhere.

I bought a full pillar three gauge a while back and didn't like the idea of using Velcro to attach it, so I went down to the hardware store and bought some plastic fittings and glued them to the gauge pod to make it attach like the stock one.

So I finally got the pod and installed it. Overall great pod. Didnt have to paint it, matched interior quite perfectly. I did however had to shave the gauge holes a little to fit the gauges in the pod. Ill get better pics up eventually.
I did have to mount it over the existing a pillar. I tried to implement a way for it to stay without it going over existing a pillar but I decided ill just do it how its intended to.
