Question Full 2ndary Boost! only in 3rd gear?

I swaped out the Turbo Control Actuators that go on under the UIM with my buddys, to help eliiminate that item as a fault in the system. Ive tried from a dead stop in 1st gear, and rolling from 2nd (no luck.. low boost) - I cant even feel change over in 1st and second gears and it stops at 5psi. However, from 30mph in 3rd gear and WOT I hit full boost! I can even hear the changeover and everything! Does this narrow it down to the Vacuum chamber? or what else does it narrow it down too?

Maybe you already checked this, but I had a similar problem...try wot in 1st (until like 5k rpm) then shift and see if you get full boost in 2nd.

Gremlin pulled one of my check valve hoses off, the one under the pressure chamber.

Its not consistent but yeah.
Ill check again but I really dont see any loose vacuum hoses or anything susupect. will tee up some lines when the boost gauge finally comes in.

When you get the boost gauge, let us know what the boost is in all gears, throughout the rpm range. If you haven't already (but I'm guessin' you have), check out this site:

Ok, I was messing with my intake and I noticed the BOV vacuum hoses could be pulled off easily. So I replaced them.
I borrowed a boost gauge (which I think was leaking out some boost from the gauge hose going into the vauum hose that is connecting to the manifold). And it felt stronger. I was always getting 10psi on primary and the gauge was reading 5psi (which is why I think it was leaking). Anyhoo, I was getting 5psi ((possibly 10psi) when I shifted to 2nd gear. When I go from a roll I got 0 psi in second though! and it sounds like the air is escaping when it does this.. any ideas?
3rd gear from a roll produces good boost.

Ok, boost problem is almost solved.
I get full boost in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th... BUT never get secondary boost in 1st! is this normal? I had a another guy tell me its normal.. So no 2ndary boost in 1st?
Also, if I punch it in 2nd or 3rd gear at around 2k rpms... It only hits 5psi on the secondary. But other than that Im cool.

What did you do to almost solve the problem, or are you just getting more comfortable with the boost gauge? What is the boost at WOT in 1st gear? Does it drop at 4500rpm? I think you should be getting full boost in second and 3rd starting from 2krpm, although it might take a while to spool up. Has your car had a hose job? Maybe there is some leaking or maybe the pills are not there.

Let me explain, It was leaking to the BOVs and CRV..( replaced those hoses and noticed an improvement while testing..) read --> I punched it in first and got full boost on primary but 0 on secondary, when I shifted to second I got full boost on the secondary and every gear after that. Infact when I hit WOT in 3rd gear from about 3krpms I get 10-8-10psi pattern!
If I hit WOT at 2k rpms, I get a good primary but about 5psi on secondary. Ive never had secondary boost in 1st gear. So your saying Im supposed to ? I would think maybe it had to do with traction or something, as to why I wasnt getting any then. ~ anyhoo, I just unhooked the Turbo Precontrol & Wastegate Actuator clips (I read it should hit 7psi if there is no leak) well it hit 5psi on primary and 0 on 2nd. so of course something else is leaking.
but why the 10-8-10 in 3rd gear and second gear when punched at 3k+rpms????
