Fuel Tank Vent

I searched and really could not find an answer to my question... sorry if it has need asked already!

I just changed my fuel setup and was wondering how i should vent my tank. The prior owner just told me he never filled the car up past 3/4 of a tank or it would over flow... and it does! I have -8 feed and -6 return. the OEM fuel hard lines are still on the tank and run the engine compartment. If I fill the car all the way up it will over flow out one of those lines.

Thanks for the help!

I am running an AEM ECU. All of the emissions have been removed on this car prior to me buying it. The flapper is still there but I am pretty sure that is it.

Did find with a previous tank - with expansion tank and one of the breathers deleted - it did tend to slosh out a bit on right handers. New tank has equivalent of 8 of your gallons extra, with those features reinstated, and that doesn't happen anymore, although it's foam filled too. Do find, without purge, bits of charcoal are driven all the way to the front of the car, so going to use an output to activate the solenoid....and check the canister drain to see what's going on.

First I removed the charcoal canister.

Then the vent line was rerouted up between the inner fender and the plastic bit, back near where the line into the tank is.

This check valve was put in the hose, zip tied the thing in place.

Been a couple years like that with no issues.

^^ This sounds like the easiest way to handle it! Ill drop the tank and see how it was done and change it.

There are valves that allow air in to prevent a vacuum, while only allowing air out when it reaches a certain pressure, preventing any issues from expansion while still keeping you safe in the case of a roll over. They're not cheap, I believe I paid around $100 for mine. You also need to make sure that the valve is fitted at the highest point and that no lines are looped so that they cannot will fill with fuel blocking air flow to the valve.
