the conectors on the end (terminated end *eyes*) should give it away. one is a 7mm and other is an 8mm?? but you can obviously tell the difference just by taking a glance at it.

Black is ground. It's universal.

no, no it's not. and assuming it is can kill ya.
- doesn't matter w/ low voltage wiring (sprinklers, landscaping lights, etc) as much, but white is usually used for ground (and the wiring bundle usually has a black wire as well).
- on electrical outlets in your home black is the LIVE wire, white neutral, and green or bare is ground.

but to the question at hand, the oem fuel pump is marked with a "+" and "-", so take a look on it to determine which is pos and which neg.

I wasn't speaking home/commercial wiring. I know that green is ground. You don't always have a 3 wire setup either. In that case, white it hot, not neutral.

Find a black wire in a car, betcha it's probably ground. Key words...IN A CAR.

And where the hell in low v. anything is white used for ground?!?!?!

I have NEVER seen that!

gotcha- just when you said it's "universal", it sure as heck didn't sound like you were referring to just cars. =) just wanted to make sure some dumbass didn't get his butt fried because of what he read here. =)

i believe w/ sprinkler wiring, white is practically always used as ground;
