Fuel Pump question...
Hey everyone..
I getting to the point where i feel i need to upgrade
my fuel system.. So the first place to start is the
Fuel pump. So I been looking around and pricing them.
I found something ODD..
WHY are WALBRO fuel pumps so much cheaper than
everyone elses??? Does it not last long? doesn't
pump as much fuel?? or what???
OR are Walbro fuel pump just a GOOD Deal???
And shouldn't worry about low price????
any input would be greatly appreciated..
Sean

HKS, APEX, COSMO and NIPPO fuel pump??
Are the HKS ApeX COSMO fuel pumps worth the extra

i have the walbro GSS341 255lph (liters per hour, not hp). i have not had any problems with it since it was installed 2 years ago. its probably inexpensive cuz its made in the USA, not Japan.

Here's the flow data on the A'PEXi BNR-32 pump:
http://www.maxcooper.com/rx7/parts_i...exi_bnr32.html
It is probably more than anyone needs (including me) short of a big single. If I were you, I would get a Denso Supra or Cosmo pump or a Bosch pump.

max,
can you elaborate on your reasoning for the pumps that you gave reference to. i read almost everything that you post, and learn. however, recently, there were a few naysayers to the cosmo, and said that the walbro was better. this concerns me b/c i am 2 days away from picking up my fd at pettit. i had the cosmo pump put in. and was wondering if you knew anything about them and if i should expect to see any problems.....

Small Differences
Yeah, Max offers great info. I don't quite understand the recommnedation for the Denso pump though. There was a site showing flow rates for the Bosch, Denso and Walbro pumps. The Denso was only a slight upgrade to the stock pump and a distant third to the Bosch and Walbro. I was planning on the Walbro. My understanding is the Denso os a true drop-in. The Bosch takes some extra fittings. The Walbro is not a drop in but I don't think it's as much as the Bosch. I think the Bosch is the most bullet proof (for close to twice the price it should be!).
This site has some comparision info but I think there is another site with more. I'll try to find the link.
