Fuel Problems - no psi after 38
well yesterday, chuck westbrook (cewrx7r1) was tuning my car and came up with a few problems .... first my car is overheating dued to no water flowing to radaitor so we suggest its the thermostat... and about the fuel we have no pressure passing 38psi.... my question is ... fuel leak ? installed lines wrong ? installed anything wrong ? i have installed the kit exactly the way kgparts diagram had theirs but i might have to double check on that ... if anyone out there have this problem before, feel free to drop a few comments on what could be wrong .... here is what i have ...
installed supra pump, exactly the way it came out ( drop in )
kg rails, 850/1600 inj, 3ohm resistors on prim and second. all fittings, braided lines, and ect ect ......

check the fuel pump installation.
In specific the little plastic ring in the bell of the fuel tube. If that isn't seated really really well, fuel gushes out and back into the tank. That may only be happening at a certain PSI in your case, when the fuel pressure overwhelms it.

something I have learned with the FD. Think of it like dating a REALLY fussy supermodel.
If there is something that you had trouble with... and a problem later could just-possibly-maybe-sorta stem out from that.... then it is your most likely culprit.
Kind of like introducing your new girlfriend to a female friend you have had for years.... And then a month later getting accused of screwing her when your new gf is in a pissy mood and feeling jealous.
Women take note: STOP IT!!!! My car is pissy enough!
Oh, back on topic. check that aforementioned ring. could easily be your problem... or something is obstructing the fuel flow.

How are you measuring the 38psi? With an aftermarket pump and rewiring, but *without* full voltage at the pump (fuel pump resistor reducing voltage), you max out around there at full adjustment on the regulator. If you aren't ever engaging the full voltage or there is some fault preventing full voltage at the pump, this would cause that sort of symptom. Measure your pump voltage compared to battery voltage. If you are simply trying to verify pressure, jumper the F/P and GND terminals in the diagnostic connector AND jumper the fuel pump relay in the long box on the front crossmember. Just jumpering the diagnostic connector is not enough to force full voltage to the pump and will throw off any pressure readings.

Fuel Problem /// no pressure after 38psi on FPR gauge /// pics *
well i have upload some pictures to see if my fuel lines is installed correctly. i am a step away from tuning my car from (CEWRX7R1) Chuck Westbrook. he is one heck of a guy. so anyway i have a few problems with my fuel. we are not getting any psi after 38 on my FPR. i have installed Supra pump and KG fuel kit is what i know of me messing with fuel ect. if nothing is wrong with my fuel install, then it should be a leak somewhere or my fuel pump is my only choice..... here is what i have tooking pictures of. if you have any idea what could be wrong. please drop me a few comments on what you think could be wrong ... thanks again guys ...
here is a writeup on kg's thread that i followed up on

holy small pictures batman...can't really see what is going on in there. But it appears you have the FPR incorrect. You should only have one port being regulated...with one pump.
but install fuel like below.
green is feed
blue connects PRI to SEC
yellow connects SEC to FPR
brown is return

super glue
Sounds CRAZY but did you use super glue to hold the vac line on the regulator? This actually happened a couple of times. Guys think there are doing good and wind up F'n **** up. Check the line and check the vac fitting on regulator.
I haven't read this whole post but also put extra grounding at the pump. My 2 sense.
