fuel pressure loss after car turned off, porblem or not?
ive recently notice that after i shut the car off the fuel pressure gauge at the fuel regulator is loosing pressure, i normally wouldnt think it is a problem except that sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. not sure if its supose to hold pressure after shut off or not. but its not consistant. is my injectors not closing all the way after shut off? or is it stuck closed and not releasing the pressure? ive also noticed that i smell fuel in the oil, is this connected? really worried.

I would not be worried about the fuel pressure drop after shut-off. Some amount of pressure is bound to leach back into the fuel tank when the pump is no longer driving the fuel. The odor in the oil, however, could indicate that you have leaky injectors. If they have been around for several years, then they can start to leak. It could also suggest a rich condition in the AFR.

smelling fuel in the oil is pretty common for rotaries. If your engine builder clearanced your side seals too loose that can make the problem worse.
They're probably not connected, and the fuel px drop after shut down is also pretty common from what I've seen. Make sure you don't have a small leak, but otherwise I wouldnt worry about it.... my FD has done it for almost 4 years ago, even when all four injectors were brand new.

Yup, slowly losing fuel pressure when the pump isn't on is normal. You will notice the same thing when you turn the keys to on, but don't start the car immediately (once you initially turn the key the pump will prime, if you wait a bit before starting the car you will see the drop off in pressure there as well).
I'm running a re-wired Bosch 044 fuel pump and it's *loud* so I can typically hear exactly when the pump is running and/or priming, and the fuel pressure/pressure loss directly coorelates with the pump actually being on.

I've been noticing the same thing once I got my aeromotive fpr and digital gauge working on my fd. At 1st I thought I had a leak at the pump exit inside the gas tank because I had changed the pump and never changed the o-ring. I then bought some expensive submersible fuel line to put on the pump and and it's still doing the same thing. I know my injecotrs don't leak because I just had them cleaned and flowed. So I guess the stock pumps themselveS either bleed internally or the fpr bleeds?
