Exclamation fuel half car not start?

please can you help me.my fuel guage shows half and my car dont start.then i put fuel and it starts.and i put about 45 litres from half way to go full.do you guys think it was empty and the guage is wrong or is it something else?please help.

From what you are saying you tried to start it and it wouldn't start. But you fuel gauge was at 1/2...so you went and got fuel, put it in and it started right?

If that's accurate. I would say that either you gauge is wrong...or you have a one in a million fuel pump.

thanks for answering.do you think it could be anything else?because i filled it up with not enough money for it to of been right empty.i usually put the same amount when its 1/4 to fill.so maybe there was some in but not enough.

what, did you truck 45 liters of gas home or siphon or somthing...

look what i did is i got someone to bring me 20 litres i put it in started and went to a station and put the rest.but the problem dont seem to be the guage because while im going normally the car cuts out.i pull up and then it starts again goes a while and the same happens again.maybe the fuel pump or something else?
