Fuel filter replaced
Fuel filter replaced
OK before anyone says do a search I did.
Here's what happend. I went to a local Jiffy lub to change my fuel filter. (They let me use the pit when not busy) Pulled it over the pit>opened the hood pulled the fuel relay and the motor did not stop?
Next I pulled the fuse to the fuel pump now the motor stopped. Got under the car to find the fuel filter and I basicly said "crap what a bitch" I'll pick another day when I have more time to do it all right and detail the area to get it all cleaned. So I installed the relay and the fuse and proceeded to drive home (8 miles way)
On the way home soon as it was ready to boost it fell on its face. ****???? Any way I am thinking air in the fuel line so proceeded with caution and drove home. About a 1/2 mile from the house I tried to boost again fell on its face again.
Pulled the hood checked relay connection and fuse looks OK.
Next I disconnected battery stepped on brake to reset CPU.
Drove again with caution. Boosted 13-8-13. OK now everything works again.
What's the cause of falling on its face when ready to boost. Did I hurt engine? Did I just need to reset the CPU (M2 Stage 3 upgrade)
Any experts out there want to comment???
I think the only thing I should have done is disconnect the battery before replacing fuel filter. I'm thinking I must of confused the CPU when I pulled the relay and the fuse while it was running.
I'll make sure I disconnect battery before I tackle the job again in a few days.
THanks ahead for the comments.

I would definately say that you shouldn't have pulled the fuel pump fuse while it was running. Next, the fuel filter is on top of the rear differential just to get you started in case you haven't found it yet..
Pulling the fuel pump fuse with the engine idling is just fine and is the preferred way to release fuel pressure. Pulling the fuel pump relay believe it or not still allows the fuel pump to run (albeit only at low speed). The ecu got upset because you plugged and uplugged the relay without resetting the ecu. I would disconnect and reconnect the battery just to be sure the ecu is in fact reset and you should be just fine.

You're thinking of the Circuit Opening relay (green one in the relay/fuse box near the battery). Pulling the Circuit Opening relay while the car is running will cut the pump completely, and cause the car to die. This releases fuel pressure. This is actually how the shop manual states you should relieve the pressure.
Fuel pump relay only controls the speed at which the pump is run (high or low)
