Any suggestions on correcting a fuel door that won't open without removing the Bose waveguide? It opened a month ago, the last time I drove it. This car does not get much road time, 2K miles in 3 1/2 years.

 

Get someone to assist....1 person pushes latch inside the cabin while the other pulls on the fuel door at the same time

 

My fuel door wasnt staying shut. The little thing that pops it open was stuck in. Went in through the hatch and shot it with some WD40. It's been working since. So it might be a good idea just to take the Bose out and get in there.

 

I stuck a little spring on one of the rubber nodules that the door normally rests on. So when the latch releases, the door pops open...

 

mine needed the spring mech. was too bad on the price at the dealer.

pry your credit card in between the gas door and the car. then push the release lever from inside the car and presto, credit card on the floor and an open gas door.

 

the above worked for me. can someone please post up a pic of where a spring is supposed to go? i don't see one and the manual's no help.
