fuel cut and redline

what is the difference between teh fuel cut and redline. i hear everyone talking about not hitting fuel cut cause it is bad and will cause detonation. also, in my honda, rev limiter is a religous thing that i hit all the time when autoXing. would it be bad for the 7 to meet the rev limiter(red line)

Good question. I am not sure if fuel is also cut when you hit the rev limiter. It's more like an ignition kill than a regulation of ignition timing. I would guess that fuel would be stopped at the same moment that the ignition is killed so that you would not have a ball of fire shooting out your tail pipe.

I was over boosting for the stock ECU and the system hit the fuel cut-off a couple of times to help me save the engine. It just shuts down the fuel delivery for a second or two. I have since corrected the problem. As for rev limiter, I am not sure if it cuts the fuel or just lowers the amount, but you will get the beep to warn you. When I was over boosting, the fuel just cut off with no beep warning.
