Front mounts and cutting rebar
The old Blitz and Apexi front mounts let you do it without hacking the car up. Don't know how hard they would be to track down used. Also the big issue with used is you never end up with all the brackets so it's a CHORE to fab all the brackets but it's possible.
I don't know if the Greddy front mount requires that main bar to be removed. It does require a LOT of hacking up of the front bumper which I don't care for. It was a style at the time to shove it as far forward as possible so you can see the front mount.
There's always the Greddy V-mount - that is a winner, well documented install, doesn't hack up the car, looks clean and works great.

Thanks Dale. I actually have the OG Greddy front Mount, and the stock rebar did get cut up. I upgraded to the 99 spec, and wanted to not cut it up. I do see all the v-mount options, but I lwould prefer the front mount. It may come down to me going V-mount, but want to exhaust my options first.
You can't have both. To avoid cutting the rebar, you can remove it. Its not actually structural to the bumper anyway and its not like its going to make a difference in an impact. An in engine bay set up would be the solution like what Dale mentioned. They do look a little weird though.
