front mount or V mount
ok i know that the 3rd gen guys have better aerodynamics then us 2nd gen guys but what are the pros and cons of haveing a front mount vs a V mount. thanks
pros of a v-mount: cool air to radiator, intake, and intercooler. fans blow down towards ground, not up into engine bay. doesn't block radiator so no overheating issues, or mad ducting and venting required. shorter route from turbo to engine, less area to pressurize, faster boost response. i get cooler air intake temps then my friend with a greddy 3 row, but i also have a big vented hood.
cons of a v-mount: doesn't look as cool with the hood down. its more expensive.
Pros of a front mount: it looks cool with the hood down. less expensive.
cons of a front mount: ducting and venting required. associated with over heating problems, blocks radiator and intake. more area to pressurize, slower boost response compared to a stock mount or vmount.
