Front Cover Oil Gasket
Front Cover Oil Gasket
My front cover oil gasket is now leaking something fierce, so it's going to have to be replaced. What I was wondering is that the replacement gaskets is a crappy paper gasket, apparently there is a metal gasket for later versions of the Japanese RX-7 does anyone have an easy way to get the Metal gasket, and has anyone else had their Front cover gasket go?
Thanks,

Mine is blown too. But it's not annoying me enough to fix it yet. Is there a write-up for this? or are you just going off the service manual. I seem to recall that ALL of the paper gaskets from 93/94 have a metal counterpart nowadays. Let me know what you find.

Actually my mechanic is going to do it for me cause it's WAY too much for me to do. You have to take off all the crap on the front of the motor, lower the sub frame take off the oil pan I believe and then remove the front cover, A REALLY annoying job. Anyways I'm trying to get a friend who goes to Japan a lot to try to find the metal one for me. Do you know of some North American OEM that provides metal gaskets? cause Mazda doesn't.
