Front bumper removal with engine out
I have my engine out of the car and need to remove the front bumper before I drop it back in, can I hook up the battery and flip up the headlights to get to the bolts/screws there? Or will I damage something? If so, how else can I remove the bumper with the lights down?

the lights can be left in place and the bumper removed. Are you removing both the bumper skin and reinforcement bar?
Are you stock? There are two screws that are on the very edge of the bumper and the sheet metal in the wheel well. You have to move the fender liner over a bit. After that, there are two deeper nuts that need to be removed (you'll need a 10mm deep socket) after that remove the bolts hold the aluminum frame of the bumper skin from the body frame. then all you have to do is slide the skin forward. Next is the reinforcement bar and that should be very straight forward.

The lights can stay put as already pointed out. However if you want or need to put them up, you can do so manually by pulling off the rubber boot and turning the manual **** (red) in a clockwise direction.

7racer, I will have to look again, be I believe there is one far inside that is a PITA to get to, and i thought you had to move the lightsup to get to it. BTW where is the manula crank for the lights? I cannot seem t find it, I thought it had them but then could not find it.

nope u don't have to move the lights....I have my bumper off as we speak. If I wasn't so tired I would post some pics. If you can wait until tomorrow I will post them.
The light **** is behind the light assembly. Just pop off the rubber cover and you will see a red ****. Just turn away.

in these two pics you can see the two long bolts that are molded into the bumper and on the very end of the bumper (looking down) of the hole for the screw that holds the very edge of the bumper skin to the fender.
the only way to get the screw on the end is to move the fender liner to the side. Access to the nuts for the two long bolts can be done with a long extension and deep socket 10mm threw the same area as you accessed the screw threw the fender liner. Alternatively, if you have a swivel fitting. You can mount the deep socket 10mm and get it from the top at the edge of the bumper and fender.

on the fender side, you can easily see where the openings are once the bumper is off. Like I said, you can gain access to this area thru "the top" or thru the fender liner.
*note my lights ARE out but I could still have gotten the front cover off weither they were there or not. Also the nuts for the long bolts are on the fender liner side of the holes you see on the end of the fender.
here I am pointing to the general area of the location of that screw to hold the edge of the bumper to fender.

finally, you have to remove the bolts that hold the aluminum bracing that extends off of the nose cover skin to the bar here. then the bumper skin slids off without a problem.

Note that on a "normal" bumper, there are actually three 10mm nuts per side (see below) which attach the bumper to the fender. You appear to be missing one of the molded in studs, and the top tab on your fender seems to be bent, but that could just be the angle the picture was taken at.

I took the rear bumper off once to replace the trunk key cylinder. Jeees is sucked getting those very bottom nuts off. I have long arms and was still up to my shoulder and could barely reach them. Then I dropped the ratchet in the bowels of the fender and had to snake it out through the rubber stopper in the bottom. That sure was entertainment.
