free flow cats....

What are some of the better free-flow catalytic converters, and how much, and where does one purchase them?

I am looking for a direct bolt-up, no welding required type....

I Have had my share with free flow cat, I don't know why but for some strange reason my car kill's all the free flow cat that I have try except for the oem. Anyway I have had 2 Random Tech free flow it die it after 3 months, magnflow best cat it die after 50 miles. I Have try to call N-tech to firgure out exactly what type of main free cat he sell but they store were close. Anyone has more like detail on how much degree can N-tech withstand. Also after all the research I think I will go with Bonez, BTW Mahjik how long u had your Bonez cat? Also what type of mod's u have on your car and how many miles u put on it so far? Btw does anyone know how hot our exhaust system gets? Khris

Hiya!

I've had the Bonez exhaust installed for almost 2 years. Not many miles in that time, less than 15k for sure but no complaints of the exhaust here. I did quite a bit of research and it seemed that the Bonez hi-flo lasted quite a bit longer than any of the others. It's also more expensive than the others but I guess if you want quality, you will have to pay for it.

My mods are in my sig. My car isn't heavily modified so I don't know if that helps the cat live longer or not. If I had to do it over again, I would definitely get the Bonez DP and Hi-Flo again (maybe a different catback though).

FWIW, I have a Random with over 8k miles and last I took the exhaust off and peaked, still looked good. Maybe cat life has to do with how much raw fuel makes it down that far?

Oh, and the Random does come in two peices, which need to be welded together - a seperate pipe on one end that slips over a stub pipe coming off the cat. Like this better, as that it allows as little more adjustment to line up with aftermarket DPs and CBs. Local muffler shop welded the two together in less then a minute.

I've got the bonez hi-flo and could not be more happy. Also you can hook up the stock air pump with no modifications to stay emission friendly.
