FMIC overheat?

I hear that a FMIC is not good due to it restricting airflow to the radiator..... So which is better a FMIC or a large IC that mounts in the stock location? Thanks for your patients guys.

Just do a search for "FMIC SMIC" and you'll find tons of info on the pros/cons for both.

FMIC is good for street driving/dragging, but not good for road racing due to th extended load. I would love for someone to prove me wrong in that an FMIC can be used for track days/road racing.

With the FMIC, just make sure the radiator still gets good flow and do the fan mod, also get a water temp gauge.

Overall, if you had/have overheating issues before, it won't get any better after the FMIC install.

Just get a good aftermarket radiator and you won't have to worry about it. I have the XS Engineering front mount, and the Fluidine radiator w/ proline water wetter. I have no temp. problems, even in the summer time pushing 15lbs of boost. However before I got the radiator, I could see my water temp. going up when I was sitting in traffic.

I have a Spearco 27 x 7.5x 3.5" FMIC on a 91 TII w/ T60-1 turbo ran by a Wolf EMS ecu....and when I had my stock radiator my car was running about 95c-103C on semi hard driving @ 15-20psi. I just finished installing a Griffin Aluminum radiator and my temps were 81-85C....You gotta get rid of those stock radiators...thats my .02....

The Griffin radiator was 189.00 in the Summit catalog and I tig'd some brackets on and it works and looks great
