BC Flooded but still alive!!

I have had my Rx7 now for about a year and its been great, decided to give it some care and swap plugs, coolant, brake fluid etc. After changing the plugs to NGK 9's all round my car flooded.

I have had it flood before but this wasnt resolving with pulling the plugs and drying them or cranking the engine with fuel relay out.. It took like nine attempts of both to get it going.

Car had no air leaks, good spark, apexi FC Commander (Now on the base map as i thought maybe that would help! Was getting desperate!) new NGK 9's in leading and trailing.

Is having 9's all round a bad idea? Should you have sevens leading then 9's trailing. I didnt think it'd make that much of a difference. Anyway once it cleared its self of all that fuel its bang on.
Only thing is I dont know why it happened.

Very new to doing my own work on a rotary and am a bit lost if anyone can shed some light. Laymans terms please. scott

Could be a leaky fuel injector. The fuel system stays pressurized when you shut the car off so with leaky injector it will drip into the LIM. Using 9's all around won't cause flooding.

Cheers for speedy reply. How would I check for something like that? Im assuming the leak wouldnt be obvious from the outside of the block?

most dont advise 9s unless you have a big single.

and if i have a problem with flooding i just push start the car.

So do you recon I shud run all 7's, 7's and 9's or.. I heard 7 and 9 were ideal but my guy couldnt get 7's in for a while. hence 9's all round.

it looks like you have already found your problem.
if its just a base map then you will still need to tune it..

but he has a good point, if you have already adjusted the maps and still have a problem then

but as far as spark plugs, i would run stock plugs for stock (car).

best way to tell would be to shut it off wait till there is no pressure on the fuel system maybe 45 minutes to be safe and remove the lower plugs and turn the front pulley by hand and try to see if any gas comes out the spark plug hole.

other than that you will have to send them off to have the flow rate checked.

flooded agen like a bitch!
EGI fuse out and oil in the plug holes then created my own hole in the ozone with the smoke!!
Back running now, can injectors be checked with a pressure gauge? dont wanna start fiddling under there if i dont have too!
