Flames

I'm not a kid asking I want to throw flames or anything because I don't really care. But I was just wondering for all the people that show their pics of their fd's throwing flames, were do the flames come from. It comes from running a little rich extra gas thats not burned off but what sparks this gas? Or is it just a flammed backfired? Thanx

Well most of those shots are from people running aftermarket ecu's and no cats of any kind. I'm sure my car will shoot flames since I'm in that field.. but I don't have any pics of it. Nor did I do the options for that effect.

Just extra fuel being dumped in the engine then backfiring....
