AB Fixing wiring harness - connectors

Hi,

So I picked up my FD that needs a lot of work and am going through the process of sorting issues out. One thing that I figured when I bought it and am certain of now is the wiring basically needs to be stripped out and redone. The guy did a hack job on a lot of it from the looks of it, and some of the connectors are cracking at the pins / exposed wires.

I've searched through the forum a few times, have the diagrams, wiring harness pictures, explanation of what connectors are what, and guides to shortening / lengthening / converting to single turbo.

What I can't find though is: What sort of pins does the wiring harness use for the connectors, I'd imagine most of them are different? A few of my wires are breaking at the connectors so I need to either pop them out and put a new pin on it or replace the connector.

Is this feasible or would I be better off buying a different harness and splicing things together? Redoing the wiring doesn't worry me, but the car is in storage an hour and a half drive away so I can't just pop out to go look at a few connectors.

If anyone has a link I'd greatly appreciate it, I tried searching but to no avail. Thanks

If it's only the emissions harness, then I would just recommend buying a new one. They do run about $800, but are well worth it.

AB Harness

If you are in need of a harness, I have a pretty decent front harness. This is the one with the fusebox and relays that wraps all the way around the front of the car - from the computer to the drivers foot well. Just 1.5hrs north of you.

I'll keep that in mind, I have mine as well as another hacked apart harness so I think I should be good. For some of the connectors if they are in good shape I'll just cut the wires and resolder new wires on them. But i have a couple that looks like the wire is breaking at the pins so I'm just trying to find new pins.

@Gen2 Thats almost exactly what i was looking for thanks!

So you didn't state which harness you need these for but if this is for the engine harness then the above link might help. I believe you're only looking for the terminals?

I broke the wire going into the terminal for the knock sensor and I swapped a terminal from one of the pre-assembled Tyco connectors (CONN-85729) and it was a great fit.

I'm not sure which type to get though since they can be purchased separately but perhaps you can take one for the team and report back.
