fitment problem with fluidyne radiator, help!!!

Hey Guys

First - yes I did a search on the fluidyne radiator and read the threads and found no threads that address the fitment problem I'm seeing.

I choose the fluidyne radiator because all the threads I read said there weren't any fitmant problems with the fluidyne radiator.

The shop that installed the radiator said all the fluidyne radiators have the same problem.

The problem is radiator lifts the stock air box about 3/4" and the support rod for the hood can't sit correctly. So the hood hits the support rod each time you close the hood. Do any of you have this problem and if so how'd did fix the problem?

Thanks guys

i had a fitment problem with the fluidyne but it was because of my m2 medium ic duct. the hood support would not fit because the duct was in the way so the hood prop would not go all the way in. i don't know about the stock airbox though.

I had the same problem. I bought the radiator from Tri-point. They said the manufacter screwed up on a batch of them, and located one of the inlets too high. It did raise my airbox about an 1". Has not affected anything. That was about 9 months ago I think.

Remove the rubber insulators that the radiator is mounted to, and bolt it directly to the frame. It will give you about an extra 1/2 inch clearance.

Hey guys

Thanks for the feedback. I find interesting that no one has said anything about this fitment problem.

The shop that insulted the radiator pushed the rubber isolators to one side to allow the support rod to sit lower. When the hood is closed the rod support slammed against the top of the air box. I just don't want to slam the hood against the support rod and damage something.

Has anyone found away to make the air box sit properly?

Thanks

Talking with others, it sounds like this isn't as common as I was told. And, this was a problem with the Fluidynes when they were first introduced.

Do you think the shop got lazy and figured it was good enough?

The question I should have asked is "how many of you don't have this problem?".

If you don't have this fitment problem. Who in stalled your radiator?

Thanks
