fitment with gotham racing diff brace
I tried to install my gotham racing diff brace, but no matter what, it didn't fit. With the rear bolted to the PPF, the front was about 1/4" too short. I thought about bolting up the front bolts first and then using a jack to push the rear up to the PPF bolts, but it was still off.
I also couldn't put more than two bolts in the front, after that, the other two front bolts wouldn't line up. I didn't get any install instructions, so maybe there's a trick to it?

I assume Gotham is selling the KG brace ... I was able to get all four bolts in it for the forward mounts, kept them loose, then jacked it up to the diff and everything fit fine. I did curse the hell out of it as it hit my catback, weighed a ton, and was a bitch to install. It really is a POS design but it works once you get it installed; I spent alot of time grinding away metal, installing spacers to mount it lower, and just time trying to get it installed just as you are. I eventually took it to a machine shop and had half the steel machined off or drilled out as there was about three times the metal required for what it does. I had them take a large portion out for catback clearance.

I have issues with the catback too, but even after removing the hanger so that I could fully push the catback out of the way, it doesn't fit.
I cannot even line up the four forward holes so that I can get all of the bolts in. The stock brace that goes there however, fits perfectly, so I don't wanty any crap about how the frame must be bent, etc.
After two hours of monkeying around I finally gave up.
I tried jacking the diff, didn't seem to make much difference.

It is a KG brace. Steve recently posted that Gotham doesnt sell them anymore b/c of fitment issues such as these. Keith is a great guy and by and large his products are good. I had to modify my brace quite a bit to get it to fit, had to open up all the bolt holes and killed about 6 drill bits in the process. Once it was on, I loved the diff brace

not quite the endorsement I was looking for, but thanks for your honesty nevertheless. I had almost talked myself into wasting more time on this. I think the next time the car's at Gotham, I'll have them do it.

I had no fitment issues whatsoever with my brace from KG parts. I did have to finesse it somewhat, but no modifying necessary the way I see it. Try getting the online instructions for it; they may help.
