First time at the Quarter mile

I wen't to an event at the local quarter mile track an drove a few times. My first time was the best for some reason.

This is it. Reaction was bad.

2.119 60"
135.00 Km/h(84.375 mph) 1/8 mile
8.702 1/8 mile
163.64 Km/h(102.275 mph) 1/4 Mile
13.369 1/4 Mile

As the sun got hotter my car did go slower and slower, could not go under 13.7. And my boost presure was droping alot, between 6-8 psi. Im normaly boosting 18 psi.

After checking my IC and found out it was overheated i let the fans go for about 45 minutes and with the hood up. I wen't again., this time i was down to 13.399. But had no traction in first gear.

Is the FD verry sensitive to heat?

Oh and my mods are.

HKS twin air filters
DP
MDP
Veilside Evolution Catbak
ACR large original mounted IC
Re-Amemeiya modifed ECU 1.1(18 psi) bar

yes very sensitive. if it gets too hot you can warp your coolant seals=rebuild.

Just FYI, 1 bar=14.5 psi and 1.1 bar=16 psi. Even 16 is a bit much to be pushing on the stock turbos. Do you have upgraded injectors or fuel pump? Also, (please take this as constructive criticism) that trap speed is quite low given the mods and boost you just quoted. A stock FD does a high 13 at ~100 MPH.

GoodfellaFD3S:It was my first time at the track and i have som shitty tires on the car that came along frome japan.

All the other runs yesterday was a waste du to overheating of my IC.
And i had absolutely no grip when the track got warmer and warmer. Next time is 201meter(1/8 mile) in 14 days. Will se how it goes then.

Will have Greedy FMIC, Greedy boost controller and new tires then, Bridgestone S03.

Hope the 201meter will go better.

Good choice on boost controller and tires--I have the same . Just keep an eye on your engine temps with that FMIC.....do you have a coolant temp gauge other than stock?

Yeah like Good is saying do not run such a high psi on your turbos, those twins are not the strongest in the world. Also you need to upgraded your radiator, that is also a good reliable mods to your car. Hehe would be good to get a radiator when you install your FMIC, kill two birds with one stone.

Also your Manual boost controller, if you turn it down to 14.5psi. I think you need to adjust your fuel and air mixture on your ECU and only way to do that is to send the ECU in to RE right? If you do, would be better to sell the ECU and get a Power FC and a datalogit. Then you can tune your car yourself. Anyway, call my scardy, but I think I would run max at 12psi with the stock twins. I have DP, MP, intake, Exhaust, and installing my PFC this week. After I get my FMIC and radiator I would run maybe between 12 to 14psi.

Also, Good mention upgrading your fuel system, I think even at 14.5psi your fuel system still needs to be upgraded, if not, there goes your APEX seals.

Anyway good luck with your Rex.

LordSnick no i dont have other coolant temp gauge.

AbadR1 used all my money on the car now. ive orderd alot off stuff that's on it's way. So a new radiator will come later. I have 3 oil coolers btw. The 3rd was on the car when i got it.

The ECU is already redon by RE-Amemeiya. It get's alot of fuel. I did get a boost spike yesterday at 1.3 bar. And i hit fuel cut. But not at 1.1 bar.

But my biggest consern is cold air to the intake. Eny good ideas to buil that.

Oh LordSnick how's it in Iraq?

I recommend you get a temp gauge.

Where is the 3rd oil cooler mounted?

An efficient IC is more important than a "cold air" intake. The intake air gets compressed and heated by the turbos, then cooled by IC before it gets to the motor. Perhaps route some hose to get a larger volume of air to your filters from the mouth of the car, but with 2 oil coolers it's not easy, so with three you'll have some issues.

And who the heck is Lord Snick?

Thanks

It's still not finished. As i said i have the Greedy 2 row FMIC on it's way, along with the Greedy E-01 Boost controller. Iwe also orderd Re-Amemeiya Coilovers, Re-Amemeiya Carbon GT wing and a Re-Amemeiya Carbon diffuser.

So i hope to get it ready soon. Oh and im missing my outer gas cap(what do u call it?). It was broken when i got the car.

Oh one thing i was wondering about. how much time do u think i could cut on the 1/4 mile with good tirese? The ones i have now are 1 year old it looks like and are Bridgestone Grid II. I have never seen those in europe before.

japan has a lot of odd models of tires that other parts of the world will probably never get to see.
