Ok, small but significant update, I just got my straight edge, and the irons are in spec so now I can proceed, pictures will follow and any constructive criticism is welcome.

Ok, so now that finals are over time to dive back into this build, Ive been collecting parts, and now I have everything I need. Here is an Idea of the direction I'll be going with the engine, black wrinkle powder coating on most of the cast alum intake components, the rest will be satin black. I want the engine to look as stock as possible, no shininess here.

My powder coating booth

Comparison of the stock elbow and the wrinkle finish of the y-pipe

If you lived in California you'd understand, the second you polish something cops think its illegal and the car gets towed haha

Thanks, the diffuser is made by Shine Auto here on the forum, its a Varis replica, its a universal piece, I had to make the brackets myself.

Thumbs up Short Block Assembled

(Sigh of relief) Well the most stressful part of the build is now complete. It went very smooth. The only bad thing that happened was the corner piece of the apex jumped out when doing the springs and landed in the tension bolt hole :/ but I got it. Other than that, for my first build I think it went well, ended up with a perfect end play reading of .0020 on my first try

New Bearings

Goopy Housings

Prepped and ready to go

Finished Product

The rest of the seals and O rings, Not exactly sure on where the rest of th O rings will go, maybe someone can enlighten me

Awesome work! Those goopy housings look great too!

Did you end up getting a new front iron, or get the broken one fixed?

It's a lot of fun isn't it I had a great time doing mine as well. Did you pull the tranny with the engine? Getting mine re-aligned outside the car was kicking my butt. Finally I put the engine back on the stand, flipped it so the rear was facing up, picked up the tranny and set it straight down onto the engine. Once I figured that out it was pie from there.

Great advice, I did pull it out with the tranny so I may have to do that too.

Is there suppose to be a gap between the rail and the LIM?

there is a small gap where the rail presses down on the top of the secondary atomizer rubber seal.

If you add numbers to the picture with all the gaskets, crush washers, and o-rings, we can tell you what the majority of them are for

9. look like crush washers for omp?
11. crush washers for the oil cooler.. inlet front of engine block, outlet by oil filter neck
5,6,13,14. not sure but one of those remind me of a gasket for the oil filler neck to engine block.
i blieve the oil pedistal for the oil filter has 3 o rings. 2 smaller ones (for the bolts) and one larger one for where the oil passes through.

thats a great start, thanks!

Im wondering between 16 and 15 they are the same size but 16 are a matte finish and 15 are glossy.

also the kit didnt seem to come with crush washers for the secondary fuel rail... I guess they dont expect you to take that apart
