first drive in a while - still puts a smile on my face
I haven't driven my FD much lately at all, have just been too busy at work and dead tired when I get home, with a lot of stuff to do on the weekends, blah blah blah.
So today I took it out, washed and waxed it, and then went out driving about a bit. Prowled around my little town, had the stereo cranked...just enjoying being in it again, remembering the feel, etc. Headed outside of town to blow the cobs out before putting it up again, wasn't really paying too much attention until as I was heading over 'the tracks' (sort of the town's unofficial city limits) I noticed a newer Eclipse was closing in fast and was obviously planning on passing me.
To avoid getting into the nasty 'no racing discussions' restrictions, let's just say that I quickly disabused that driver of THAT notion....lol
This is one of the best things about these cars, and having the luxury (or curse, depending on how you look at it) of not driving them much. It is easy to forget the power and responsiveness and agility of the FD.
Yeah, it still makes me smile.

Know what you mean. I still spend a significant amount of time behind the wheel at work but on the days off when I can get into the FD, it's still fun. More than just "driving". it's half the fun of going anywhere.
Some nice day you have to point your car north Greg. First round...and if your so disposed, a good cigar will be on me.

Thats why i drive my car only on the weekends. Cause i let my anticipation build up during the week so when the weekend comes, im like yes!
Even though there are alot of small things that bother me about my car, i still get happy when i get in the driver seat the 2-3 days out of the week.
I always have to have a toy. I cant see myself without one.
And i dont know how most of you can go months without driving your car. And years for some of you.
I once went like 2 or 3 weeks without driving my car and i was going insane. Its usually those long periods of not driving the car that makes me buy more stuff for it cause im bored lol
Its a weird sickness.

I didn't drive mine for 5 years due to a bad motor and me needing to save $$$ to buy a new one.
Even though I didn't drive it, I still loved seeing it in my garage. Looked so dam sexy just sitting waiting for the day it would rise again. That day came about 3 months ago!
I've owned it for 12 years and will own it for another 50 years! I absolutely love the feeling driving it gives me. Only 500 more break-in miles to go and it's back to the track we go!

It's so addicting isn't it? It's the weirdest thing....it constantly needs work and money...and we gripe but do it anyways. We constantly curse it and threaten it with thoughts of selling it...muttering under our breaths. Family and friends laugh at us...we grin and bear it and half agree.
Then you walk away from it, turn around and see it its parking spot.....with that front/side view stance with the wheels slightly turned and you make eye contact and you're like.....wow!!!! That's a PHAT looking ride. I'm never selling this car! The body lines are just phenomenal.
Just returned from a 3 week holiday and drove it for the first time in a month. It's running great! Such a joy when it does that.......gotta love the FD!!!

You said do everything at once is better. If that means not driving the car for 2 years, i cant see how thats better.
You should always do one step at a time. Why are you rushing for? Well actually i dont think you're rushing, its been 2 years already lol.
I bet you sell the car once its done.
Thats the route 90% of FD owners take when they completely go all out on their FD.
