Finally.. JDM TIME..

After years of searching I have located a JDM rx7, registered in the us with a clear title and even a vin number!! Can you tell im excited.. RHD baby!!

Anyways,

Wile sitting here staring at pictures of the car I realized I had over looked a possible complication. This may sound stupid but no one seems to know the answer. I would ask the seller but he cant be reached at this hour. Is the pedal configuration the same as an american car. A buddy of my has me all freaked out saying that the clutch is on the right and the gas is on the left. Im not sure I will be able to drive the car if this is the case. My daily driver is a miata and jumping from an american configuration to a jap one on a daily basis would be a real pain in the foot. Anyone know for sure?? Clutch right, clutch left... you get the idea..

nope.
here's a cheap diagram for it....
135 steering wheel
24R driver

It's like the passenger shifting on a left hand drive car.

And a JDM Rx-7 sucks because...drumroll please... The exhaust manifold and downpipe get crunched in there....AHAHAHAHAHA what a waste of money. If you buy an RHD Rx-7, you're a total dumbass.

Now prepare for the onslaught of kids asking how to register a RHD JDM model.

RotaryMagic--Yeah I guess I should make my exhaust totally straight too, since that small bend must make me loose 40-50HP right?

Exhaust manifold--care to clarify?

Actually in Japan it use to be popular, but since it stopped in the US at 95, the car is too old so now the Japanese want the Japanese version.

I havent seen but 2 US FDs here and both were for sale.

I'll pass on rhd. Sure it might look cool when you get out of the "wrong" side of the car but the only way you'll be able to get food from a drive thru is if you bring someone along for the ride. It'd be good for delivering mail though. Subaru actually used to sell rhd Legacy wagons to rural post offices.

haha

Actually in Japan most of the porches, Mercedes, and BMWs are left hand drive, which is kind of funny and suchs for the TOLL boths that are every 10 miles haha, but in Tokyo since there are a lot of those cars down here, they are making left hand drive car toll booths haha thats some ol BS LOL
