Nice but even if you could insure the car it is still illegal to drive on public streets. *jealous*

^^ yeah. I know A girl who had progressive and oh my god...

Quick rundown:

1) this girl works for the bussiness office at a chrysler dealership. She drove a brand new special edition PT cruiser (loaded) that was on loan from the dealership. Had full coverage insurance through progressive.

2) Got into an accident and totalled the car. The adjustor give an extremely lowball offer of 14k. The adjustor provided the VIN models of the cars that he compared to estimate the value of her vehicle. She used her work resources and found out that these VIN #'s were actually the cheapest models of PT cruisers that is, the base model, no power windows nothing. Remember her car was loaded with upgraded everything (interior, wheels, sound system, paint). At the same time she resarched identical vehicles to hers (at least comparable).

3) She called progressive back and showed them what she had found out. Her agent was speechless and said that they would have to research this on their end as well.

4) Her agents manager called her back and accused her of being unethical because she was using company's resources to help herself. He also stated that he was not going to accept ths unless he spoke to her boss to see if she had approval to use the resources (seriously WTF? that has to do with anything).

5) She provided her boss's work and home phone number. Her boss is the owner of the dealership. Manager called the owner of the dealership AT HOME and tried to get her fired for using company's resources. The owner turned around and said "She can use whatever means are available to her. That is fine by me. I saw your estimate and what you did to achieve that price. You need to pay her what is fair. If you don't WE will see you in court"

6) They are in litigation right now. The owner (her boss) is financing the lawyer because she was soo pissed at progressive's tactics and how they treated her employee.

whew!
Sorry to get this thread off topic but I wanted to make that you knew about progressive.

Back on topic! I'm still jealous

Progressive is fine... as long as you don't get into an accident. When my friend wrecked his car, he had insurance with Progressive. Those bastards tried to screw him over, and they made him fight tooth-and-nail for every single damn penny. Then at the end, they tried to refuse paying for his car rental too, despite the fact that the rental was acquired according to the regulations that were outlined in his policy. After seeing all the bullsh*t and headaches he had to put up with, I would NEVER consider going with Progressive... especially with a modified car!

So who else insures modified cars? And also allows you to actually drive the vehicle?

I think he means put the covers back on. While you're there, upgrade the bulbs to something brighter, like Sylvania Silverstars (about $30). They're much better than stock and will get you by until someone (please) finishes a popup HID kit for the FD.

David, I've been running Catz HIDs with my stock popups for many years----the install is extremely easy, it may as well be a kit. Click ithe link in my sig.

Btw, spoke to Alex the other day and he told me your 3 rotor sounds mean at idle. I think you'll be really happy with it

I really hope the car wasn't run too often (at all) with no filters...that is so terrible for rotor housings

with so TLC, that car could be very clean.

nice pick up!
