Congrats, nice numbers for 14 psi - turn it up to 16-17 psi and you'll have a 400+ rwhp monster Nice flat torque curve....

No need to turn up the boost, just wind it out! Everything was still climbing when you let off!

Streetport! We probably could've held it out a bit longer.

dubulup, the timing is retarded in the second pull, for safety's sake. But I'm pretty sure I'm okay. We played it very conservative I think.

Thanks for the heads-up though. It's advice well-received.

We lifted, well...basically because we forgot. That and Mohammed knew that I wasn't so concerned with top end. If I'm ever doing freeway runs at 150+ I'll reconsider, but until then its an autox/street car built for quick spool up and midrange power.

Mods (give or take):

RP fuel pump
850cc injectors
RX6 BB turbo, intake, DP
MP
Exhaust (indeterminate)
Greddy SMIC
CWR dual oil coolers
Fluidyne rad
PFC & Commander
Pulley kit and removed smog pump.
Turbo XS BOV

Um, that's pretty much it in the way of power making/saving mods.

Intake temps stayed really cold today. The car is working how it's supposed to and feels great.

Daniel, if you're ever up here, shoot me an e-mail or ring me if you wanna do a couple of runs in the car. I'd be more than willing to accomodate (assuming I'm not working ).

Run 1: 56.3F
Run 2: 52.7F

Not bad considering we were in a closed garage running the hell out of the car with no significant airflow.

My water temp afterward was still at 87C.

Nice dyno power curve.

If you have 850cc secondary injectors I would be wondering what your injector duty cycle was. I'm thinking maybe 1200cc or 1600cc would be better.

Ken,

Pretty high, but I dunno the exact number. If I want to boost anymore safely, I'm going to need to get 1200s installed.

My primaries are 850s also. I don't know what the reasoning behind this was (RP explained, but it's been well over a year now).

At this point, the power is more than sufficient for my application, but the temptation to make sure I beat the guy next to me at the stoplight and my complete paranoia about engine life and engine safety may have me switching over to the 1200s sometime the end of this year or early next year.

I see I didn't know you had 850cc primaries.

If you had 550cc you probably would have run lean and maybe blew your motor.

1200cc sounds like a good idea. You don't need an expensive fuel rail for that.

Probably 56C and 53C, not F.

Nice runs!

Very nice numbers, that flat torque curve is amazing. Only about 500 rpm lag over the stock twins with a gradual rise to peak, even with a streetport. Very nice!

That turbo looks like the way to go for a streetable car. Low lag, more power than the twins at the same psi, with the capability to push it a little harder and hit 400 rwhp.

Did RP do your tuning?

Thanks Max.

Actually, those *are* farenheit numbers...

Rynberg, I'm extremely pleased with my numbers today. The more I drove this evening, the more I realized how linear the power is. Very nice, very streetable, and (hopefully) very reliable (rotary-wise ).

lol. Long story, but basically it's a stock photo of a guy screaming. He has an uncanny resemblance to someone I work with, and it's a great inside joke, plus he looks insane, so...why not, right?

Rynberg, forgot to add...RP didn't do the tuning.

Mohammed at MZM International in Austin did it. And, I have to say, the more I interact with this guy the more amazed I am at how much he knows AND (this is important) how much attention he pays to the customer's desired application. He just tuned me the perfect autoX/street car for my needs.

A great guy, and someone I *highly* recommend to anyone in Austin and surrounding areas.

My father-in-law likes him so much, he had his brother's RX-7 shipped in from Florida after purchase to make sure everything checked out, and to get it in proper order. He's had zero problems thus far, and he BEATS on cars.

I agree about M. Patient guy, explained what he was doing to my car, and why. Good egg.

E, you taking the 7 up to the auto-x meet on the 23rd? Love to go and watch. (and a ride'd be cool too! )

Yep. I'm driving over to College Station on Sunday morn. My cousin will be co-driving, but we'll kick him out of the car on one of the runs and get you some seat time.

I think Don will be there also. We're gonna swap runs at some point to compare cars (he has a red R1 that he drives very well).

DAAAAAMMMMNNNNN!!!!

Eric, your FD is freakin' fast! We gotta get some race rubber on that thing next time. Probably give ol' Dan a scare or two. I'll get those fresh Kumho's on there so you'll get a fair run in my car next time. I'll have the clutch and flywheel in today, so you'll get a chance to try that out as well.
