Finally **POLISHED** my engine bay **Pics**
i apologise, it did say that. i was under the impression that the strut was not ali tho? i apologise in advance if am soundin stupid its jus that i am after doing this to my brace soon coz it changes the whole look of the engine bay,
I've always had my engine bay polished extensively and I'll admit it requires a LOT of maintenance. However, ceramic polished coating isn't an interchangeable option to polishing, IMO. I've seen both types of coating and ceramic polishing looks dull, more silver than shiney, and just not an option if you actually like the look of polish/chrome.
On that note though, I believe I've found the solution! A friend of mine has developed a technique of "coating" polished parts so that they'll never need to be refinished. I've already sent in my own R1 strut bar to test the claims and should be picking it up this week. Here's a thread with more detail and where I'll upload pictures, etc.:

You're right...the strut bar isn't aluminum, it's steel. It can still be polished though, just requires a bit more work. Trust me, I'd know

Ian: Engine bay looks great! Good job
I have both polished and chromed parts on my car and hands down would go with chromed as I start re-doing parts. The upkeep on the polished parts is too time consuming. Even if you are sending them out, you need to consider down time again.
Str8ryd it will be interesting to know what that coating is and how it holds up. Keep us posted.
(Sorry your thread got hijacked OP)
