Haha, damn he DOES have a good radiator! Just kidding, I think you mean 230. He has no way of determining this without an aftermarket water temp gauge. I wouldnt ever let my car anywhere neat 230, I get scared at 210. Thats a quick way to blow a coolant seal.

you said in your first post that he put on a downpipe and removed the cat, we here take that as putting on a downpipe and a midpipe. very dangerous. Personally, with you being 17, i'd suggest not getting a FD unless your parents can help you out with maintanance/gas/insurance. I'm 20 wiht a perfect record and insurance on an FD on my parents account with 6 other cars and a house worth 750k was going to be 4500 every 6 months. add that to people with bone stock cars spending (so i've heard) over 1k/year on just maintanance, and you're workin your *** off just to keep her on the road. I'd suggest doing what I did this past summer, get an FB. They may not be as sexy as the FD, but they are a hoot to drive. Mine is a litte rough, but the drivetrain is solid. She's pretty quick, and light on her feet (havn't weighed her, but i'm expecting about 2300 pounds with me in it (6'4, 185)).

Then again, if you're dead set on getting an FD, talk this guy down in price, because no matter how immaculate the car is, 50k is getting up there on an engine that came from the mazda factory, espiecally with those mods. add that with the driving style of teens/early 20's, and you've got a recipe for either disaster or a huge pile of money being dumped into a 12 year old car.
