Few problems with my car.

First off hello, ive had my car for about 2 weeks. I bought it off of ebay with 93k miles. Ive been having a few problems and i would like to know what they are. First off it smokes like crazy on start up, it wasnt that bad until a couple of days ago. There is a hesitation at 3k rpm in every gear, like it cuts out and then gets right back in it. It pings like crazy starting about 4k rpms, and every time i get on it it smells like burnt oil and a little smoke comes out the back. And first geear feels really lacking in power espically in higher rpms.

The car has:
Full turbo back exhaust, no cat
Apexi intake
Power fc with commander

If you didn't get a compression test done before you bought the car, now is a good time to get one.

the smoke i wouldnt worry about unless its lasting past warm up and its a shade of blue. My car smokes like crazy for about 5+ mins until it gets warmed up but its really cold here too...

the hesitation i would get checked out ive heard a lot people having similar problems - try a search!!

Sounds like someone who's been on this forum for a long time sold a 7 to someone who's been on this forum for a short time

??? Do you think you may know some history on my car? Its silver and i bought it off a guy that lived in San Jose but is going to UCLA right now.

The smoke does have a hint of blue to it, and yes it pings worse than anything ive heard around 4k and up.

Im probably just gonna go have a new motor put in and single turbo swap and hope that takes care of it

^^^LOLOL

compression check would DEF be the next smart move before you go nuts..after that, i would do lots of searching on this forum for your future problems you may have or having and go from there..

well unless you are rich, doing an engine swap now is dumb

You'd be surprised how often someone suggests it when a person has a boost leak.

Ok, It had been sitting for about 2 hours, i just tried starting it up. and it died 3 times, i tried holding the throttle down a little but it diddnt make a difference. On the 4th time i got it to idle at around 1000 rpm but it sounded very lopey, not smooth at all, the whole car was shaking. It doesnt respond very well at all when i try to rev it up, it kind of stutters and then revs a little bit. According to my guage it was also reading about a pound of boost at idle. It never got any vaccum

Once again, get a compression test done on the car before you start trying to tear anything apart.

Doesn't sound good, my car did the same thing. My compression was 0, 0, 0 - 30, 30, 30. Not good.

And that's why you get a compression test done before you purchase one of these cars....
