Yea, you're probably need something that mounts in the bins. Hope your battery isn't in there!

This image isn't the best but here's how to modify the bin covers. Carefully cut them out then get black door edge trim from your local autoparts store to cover the edges with.
I think the extra noise comes from the pebbles hitting the backing plates and resonating through the bar.

Looks very good man and I mean really good. Not yet at that stage of upgrades for me yet. Waiting for the car to really actually have to have one. ETA 11.99 When that happens I will then get one. But it looks good man.

What happens to all of your tools for use with the a flat tire. Do they become obsolete with that setup. It looks great but still wouldnt want to lose that option of donut capabilities with the unlikely situation of a flat tire. Let me know. Thank you.

Pulled it all out. Guess you could keep them in the bins behind the seats.

It is my understanding that it is a legal bar. It is a bolt in and weighs right around 100lbs or so. Well worth the extra weight in body stiffening and safety. These are the main reasons I got it, not to pass a tech inspection.
The car feels MUCH more solid now. I never thought the car wasn't solid before, but the difference is amazing. I can't wait to feel it on a road course.

It is SCCA legal for Solo I according to Kirk (and they should know) and includes the 1/4" thick backing plates. It's a serious piece, not to be confused with a "fashion bar". There is a small hole by the driver's head for checking with a depth guage. Don't know about NHRA and such. You can get it in 2" or 1 and 3/4". I forget the thickness. 2" is pictured.

I'm looking into the same roll cage and was just curious as to whether it will work with the trunk cover or not. Being in college, I don't have a garage right now, I don't want people peering into my trunk in the parking garage with thoughts of steeling anything.
