yea, i heard, my sister was visiting hawaii and was bitching how the speed limit everywhere is 35mph,.

 

haha its more like 25 damn near everywhere, speedlimit on the highway is 50mph (apparently we were cruising at near 2 1/2 times the speed limit )

 

I think in California, especially the Bay Area, they are more common so I don't get as many comments. When I pulled into the parking lot of my new job last year, someone did tell me I had the same car the CTO drives.

I told them the CTO has good taste.

this is great...i was gettin a lil discouraged in my search for a low milage cym...i was thinking about waiting a lil while and buying somethin else for now but no way...i was reading this thread and talkin to my friend on aim and im like if i ever doubt myself about buying a rx7 slap the **** out of me....this car is one of the best ever made...i need to own one

 

I've gotten the viper thing quite a few times, and if I had a dollar for every time I heard the "Is that twin turbo?" thing, I could have 2 fd's. My favorite was whenever an old friend came over, and I told him I had a new car. He looked at it and asked "Is that a 2001 or 2002?" That made my day when I told him it was a 93. The only annoying thing about nobody knowing jack is that they automatically know it all once you say, "You know, Vin Diesel's car?" That's the worst.

In Japan the base and touring model does come with back seats and there are people who did the mod over here. Well I did managed to have a third passenger in my car, once was when I still got the storage bins. My girlfriend and I was hanging out in her friend's place overnight the next morning that girl (my gf's friend) weren't feeling well so have to take her to her family doctor and since mine was the only car avalible her brother took the car, so she have to sat/lie on top of the bins, how she did that I don't know. There are two more times but that was after I took out the storage bins to save some weight, one time my friend was sitting in the back (3 people in my FD) and I raced with my other friend's modded TSI when we are going to a go-kart place, man he lost so bad we started off a stop light and race to the go-kart place right from the sart I kept pulling and pulling and after a few minutes I can barely see his headlights. Another time my gf was sitting at the back because my brother was with me at that time and my brother is 5"8 (about 180lbs i guess) so compare to my brother she is tiny so she have to go to the back, after that she said it wasn't that bad sitting at the back.

 

I think this will end any conversation of a third passenger. Back in 92 I got a wreckless driving ticket for having 7 people in my first gen rx7. They were all drunk and I wasnt so I offered to take them all home. Backroads only less than 20 mph at 3am - I thought it would be better than letting them drive home. The officer didnt. Nor did the judge.

t, almost every Valet parked my car in some spotlight place without me paying for any VIP treatment. The last time at Bahama Breeze, it was a Red Viper, my car, and my bro's M3 with mine aguably in the primo spot.

I think most people say "Oh Mazda" or some such because they cannot imagine a high-performance Mazda. They only know MPV vans, popular but slow Miata's, and non-descript 626's, econobox 323's and cars like that.

Mazda is only known as a performance company within the RX-7 community. It's kinda like Apple computers. Those who own them, love them, nobody else has any idea what is different about them.

The lack of knowledge outside the community might be due to the fact that Mazda never really advertised the RX. The last RX-7 commercial I remember was the one for the 88 RX-7 Convertible (with James Garner).

But all in all.. i seriously love my car.. ( more than my Girlfriend too, shhh keep that a secrect. ) but no matter how much money i need to dump in it. i cant ever get mad at my car.. its just something i worked so hard for.. ( first thing i have ever supported on my own. i am only 19 got the car when i was 18 ) even when i have a problem.. i love to hate the problem i have... cuz its a Rx-7 problem.. dunno its weird... but i see what being a rx-7 owner is all about.. love for the Rex.

Yeah i've had my car mistaken for a Ferrari before at Spring break, some stupid girls were like, "OH ****, Look at that Ferrari!!!" as i drove by some glass buildings and lit a large flame loose

Most of the time at gas stations, people can't believe its a Mazda RX-7 and that it is a 93. They all think its brand new, guess its true, the styling is timeless

HAHA I just got the Ferrari question last night. I could hear this guy bellowing out of hie VW so I rolled down the window to get the Ferrari inquery. I was going to tell him "Ya man it's a Modena...." and let him look like a dork to everyone he tells.lol I have also got asked if it was an S2000... some older guy....tryin to be cool. hehe Alot of people don't know because of the Efini badge...screws them up .......... i had the viper,vett thing before. but one dayi was out our kinda mazda dealer they don't sell them any more theough and i wa asking how much a part cost . then when i went out side there was this older guy looking at my car
