Ever have someone come up to you and ask if your car was a ferrari or something completly outlandish like such?

I've seen people stand in awe and ask if "is that a rotary?!?!" "is that a twin-turbo?"... stupid shit like that... never a ferrari....................... has this happened to you or something?

It really upsets me when someone says they like my Miata.

It's hilarious to see the nose tip "marks" on the windows when I return to my parked car.

It's cool when others give you the "thumbs up" sign.

The other day a gas station attendant said to me: "Years ago I played this video game & your car was my favourite car. It's the 1st time I see an RX7 in person." It made my day : )

Never got the ferrari thing :(

But I remember a couple posts in the past, like 6 or 7 months ago with people saying they had the ferrari deal on em.

And yes, nose tips on the windows are quite amusing!
But I always wipe the window with my sleeve when im done for manners.

HAHAH!! That just reminded me of something... I remembmer a while ago (maybe a year back?) Kahren and I were hanging out outside, and these two weird guys were just standing there checking out our cars... then asked if they were ours... and started talking to me about my car (it was obvious they knew nothing besides how to turn it on and drive). Anyway, upon leaving, they said "that's a really nice car, and your friends Miata is nice too"..... lol.... that was FUNNNNEEEEYYYYY!!! :)

I'm sure there have been more interesting incidents like that. Anyone ever had someone wonder if your RX-7 is a Viper? :)

manatecu had a cable install last weekend and the cable guy said "hey man nice modena" and manatecu said it was a rx-7 and then the cable guy followed up with "I didn't know ferrari made the rx-7".

Best of all time! (is not about fd's) but I was at the Baltimore car show and this idiot was standing at the crossfire and said exactly "Jeese, and I thought the new Rx'8 was by Mazda, this is Insane, look at that rotary engine, whoa".

If the crossfire enblem and Chrystler section didnt give it away...

I had a guy once think that I had a Boxter with the hardtop installed.

I was at the gas station, and the guy in a Z3 comes out and the conversation went something like this:

Guy: Hey I love those! I keep thinking if I should trade in my Z3 for one.
Me: *Wondering if he knows what I got* Yeah! I Love this car. It's fast, handles great, and it's beautiful
Guy: I've also been thinking about an S2000. For a Honda, they look great, but Boxsters like yours really catch my attention
Me: *Now I know what he thinks I got* I Like Boxsters, too, but they are really slow. I can't compare them to my car, ( :D )
Guy: That's not a Boxster?
Me: No way. I don't even consider them real Porsches. They are underpowered and have a terrible gauge cluster.
Guy: What car is yours? It looks brand new.
Me: Oh, it's a Mazda RX-7
Guy: A MAZDA? WOW!
Me: :D Yep! It's a 93
Guy: A 93?! It looks brand new!
Me: That's why I Love this car. They brought it over in limited numbers. Last year sold new in the US was 1995


The best is when you show up at a party late at night with no lights around the house. People come up with ALL sorts of things :p:

hehe... i've encountered about all these experiences you people above speak of...

the most rewarding by far, is when you see the kids riding all ghetto in their riced out civics and you see the kid in the passenger seat point at your car and then you can see the drivers lips go "000 shiitt."

I was the cause of a pretty bad wreck when a kid saw me go by and he turned his head to look and ran straight into a mini van :p: the kid was okay though

I think some one thought mine was a Viper cuz she asked if I paid more or less than 80 for it.

Last Sunday I got asked if my car was twin turbo and if it was fast.

And about the miata coments, the only person who says that about my car is my buddie Mike and its after I call his MKIV supra "A really nice celica."

my friend knows that its not a viper and he knows its an Rx7 but he calls it a baby viper.

These things always happens.
Once I went into MacDonald's to get takeouts and when I got out a couple in their 50s were checking out my car and then when I walked up to it the guy talked abit about cars with me saying it is a very nice car and all then asked if it were a Viper, and I said no no it is a Mazda then he said OH a Mazda? then I added yea it is a RX7. I also got a cop mistaking my car as a miata!! and another time a cop asked me how fast can the car go and then rephase how fast have I gotten in this car well of course I didn't tell him the truth I just told me the fastest I got was 240km on a nearby race course ;)
and he asked if he were to catch me on the highway will he be able to and that I didn't answer and I just said I have about 280hp on the wheel and I would never run away from a cop on purpose ;) hehe

I had a pretty hot girl ask me if my car was a porsche... Of course I said no, it's a Mazda RX7, but it's as fast as a porsche. Then she and her hot friend lost interest and walked away. :P Another time a homeless guy on the corner of a street came up to me and said "Hey, I saw one of those the other day here, I love the way Vipers look. How much do those cost?" I said "More than you can afford.. *revs engine* Mazda." lol jk, I didn't say that.. but told him it was a mazda, not a viper and drove off.

#1 I wrecked my car last week on the way to meet a tenant. I called her to tell her I'd be late....."You wrecked your Ferrari???!!"

#2 At the airport a few weeks back. Stop for secuirty check and to get my parking ticket. "Is that the new Viper?"..."No, it's a Mazda"...."Ohhh, Maserati...very nice.".


#3 Today. Air Conditioning guy from the air conditioning place whose office is next ti mine so they know/knew my car . "I couldn't find your place...They told me to look for a small red Viper looking thing ....".

Then there's the dreaded "Is that a Miata?" But it's been many years and mods since I've heard that one..

How come every time you tell them what it is, they reply with "oh, mazda"?

Me: about 5.1 when it's stock

Guy behind me in traffic in early nineties oldsmobile: HEY!!
Me: (looks in rearview mirror)
Him: HEY!!!
Me: (turns around)
Him: You wanna sell your car?
Me: (shakes head)
Him: YOU SURE?!
Me: (nods head)

Ricer next to me at redlight: Hey!
Me: What?
Him: I heard them things got some cajone (balls)!
Me: Yeah, they do
Him: well show us!!!
Me: there's a police station across the street
Him: (shakes head and drives off)

Mazda salesman: Hey, is this yours?
Me: Yup
Him: Nice, you wanna sell it?
Me: Nope
Him: not even for an RX-8?
Me: No, not really, it's kinda missing a turbo
Him: hmm, (turns to friend) did you see the green one of these the other day?
Friend: no, why didn't you come get me??!?

I love the reactions the FD gets, thats half the fun of owning the car!

Iv, never had anyone mistake my car fora ferrari, but most people can't beleive the car is a 93.

Yeah, I showed a picture of my car the other day to my neighbor beofre my crash and he's like "That's a Mazda?" .

I hear that all the time. It's like they are so impressed and think its an exotic and then they say "Mazda -wtf?".

That's why I only have Effini badges on it. Let them wonder and marvel :D

this guy comes in and he says "thats a nice corvette, i always liked those, is it yours"

me: "its mine, but its not a corvette, its a mazda"

him: "it sure looks like a corvette to me"

i think he wanted me to concede and tell him it really was a corvette.

then i always get the "what is that" comment.

Today at work I got "hey, thats a nice supra" and I siad "WTF?! Does my RX7 look like a jelly bean?!." hahah no I didn't really say that but thats what I was thinking.

No offense to supra guys, I like the jelly bean look of the supra.

In cali theres so many of them I see a different one every week...people that I have met for the most part know what it is and recognize it for the rotary engine that it holds and the timeless design

I haven't gotten Ferrari, but people have said they like my Dodge Viper quite often.

Another time some guy came up to me and asked if it was a 2004 Porsche. This was like last year. :D

I've had the Viper one a lot. Mostly it's just " What is that?" "Is that new?" "Is it fast"
A while back I was messing with a mustang GT kinda just screwing around not to fast and the guy was smiling too. I got on it for a second and I guess I shot a flame, when he caught up to me at the light he said "That's not stock is it, cus you shot about a three foot flame out the back!!" " How long have you had it?" me "About five years" him "WHAT? It's not new" :D

Yesterday I had a guy swerve in and out of traffic and catch me to ask " Hey, what is that dude?" It's a RX-7....dude. "Hey, like the one in the fast and furious man?" NO! good by.
