More rigidity for the front end, mounts from the fender to a solid mounting point is my guess.

For road raceing would be the application.

Although at second glance it almost looks hinged for a Lambo typr door set-up. I hope it's not that from FEED

it's a k-brace (?) or something. They are very popular among 240sx's and 300z's.

They are supposed to stiffen up the front end significantly in those cars. I've never seen one for our cars before. I thought about making one, but didn't think it would help much on an FD.

Yes Richypoo they come in pairs. They're primarily for drift/road course peeps....us drag queens wouldn't need them

Pretty nice on the street. Definatly ideal for ROAD Racing. I dont have a strut tower bar now (piping needs to be redone) but they say in OPTION where they did a review on just the FD that it drastically helps stiffen the front end, increasing brakes effectivness and suspension ride.. You can feel it in the corners thats for sure..

I'm not sure how I feel about this product. How is it significantly strengthening a part of the body that is already welded together AND primarily takes on forces in a direction which it is already quite stiff against?

Up and down forces, I cannot really see it helping that much.

Side to side forces, I can't see it either.

Thats what they say it works on is UP and DOWN Forces and with the strut tower bar working for side to side.

Hey the whole car is pretty much welded though, but it has several flex points I need to get my scanner working that would help.

The spot were the hinges for the doors is always a well inforced and stiff area. It takes alot to hold that door out there without any contortion. The top of the front struts are always in a very week area. There isn't really any frame support up there and it's just a few sheets of sheet metal holding them in place. This product connects the stiff area of the hinges to the weak area of the struts. And triangles are the strongest shape so they have to be good

FDreaming---Anything to back that up?

I hear a bunch of ideas on these parts but considering they are made and available for just about any J-spec Sports car, and have great review after review I think I will go with them and my opinion since they are on my car.

bigmack000---They arent made to order and they run anywhere from $120.00-$290.00 shipped, many styles available too. Here is another style, all basicall the same function.

Well I'm saying that if you look at the structure of the car already, it would appear the side-rails and front of the car are already very effective against forces in the front occuring in an upwards fashion.

Jeff, what do you think?

clayne---I tell you one thing man. I dont care if I ever sell a set, they were actually never even put on our page. The point though now is I put them on my CAR they do in fact work. Another thing is I have a 1996 with half the miles as most of the FDs in the states. I would say the more miles you have the more effect you would feel. I dont say anything works that doesnt............
