FD's with a rotary or a V8?

I am just curious how many people we have with V8's in their FD's as opposed to how many rotary FD's are out there. I own both a FC and FD and both will be rotary powered for as long as I own both of them. It just seems that when I come into the 3rd generation section there are these threads arguing about keeping it rotary or dropping a V8 in. It also seems a majority of the V8 rx7 owners have 3rd gens. I know this ***** been beaten to death and this is not just another thread to start a fire. I would just like to see how many people on this forum with 3rd gens have a rotary still compared to those who have converted it to a V8. So dont come into this thread stressing why its better to put a V8 in, I just want to see what the ratio is. So please vote in the poll.

I blew up the third and final rotary 3 years ago on the smog dyno. My car is motivated by a 2002 ZO6/T-56. Im sure there are a lot of rotarys out there that also put out 405 horse power, but how many of them are California smog legal. Having to pull off all of your mods every two years just to pass smog is not my idea of a good time.

2 rotor because that's all I can afford. I'm happy with my current power. I just take it up one notch at a time and adjust my driving accordingly. Until I reach the limit of my machine rather than my limit as a driver, the rotory will work just fine for me.

Talking

No way I am putting a V8 of any make in my FD.

Driving a rotary FD is special...there isn't too many...others have no clue what a rotary engine is...the body of a FD is like "sex"...

Bottom line it is a rare breed.

THAT CAN SMOKED SOME ASSES!!!!

Off topic question, the engine bay looks pretty cramped, how hard is it to change spark plugs? Probably kind of a moot question...It must be nice not having to change them every 9k miles (or less).

The plugs can all be pulled vary easily. You also dont need to crawl under the car to get to them.

Raptor-t i didn't work on my rotary it was maintained by the John Hine mazda. The car had an extended warranty so i let them work on it. After the warranty expired and the engine blew i started my conversion.

Im actually suprised by the outcome of the votes so far. I actually figured there would be more V8 driven FD's out there. To each's own but im glad there are more rotary driven FD's.

Mine will always have a rotary
if I decide I cannot live with the rotary, then it is time to buy a different car
